California Condor

Well phooey. I had all my comments typed out and I accidentally refreshed the page, and they all vanished.

Here goes again:
This is my most recent piece; I just finished it yesterday. The scanner here at home scans all the way to the edges, unlike my scanner at school. All my old pieces will therefore be up soonish ^ ^

Not to sound prideful, but I am so happy with this piece. Nothing went wrong, which is new for me I really like the way the textures on the beak turned out, and the feathers around his face (which I was expecting to fail miserably as they were a lift after the paint was laid down and then crispified to get the whole in-focus/out-of-focus thing) worked just the way I wanted them too ^ ^

Anyway, I got opera (the color) for Christmas, so I can make good oranges again ^ ^
Also, I'm not sure how well you can see it in the scan, but the background is a mixture of dark purples, greens, and blues.

11x15" arches 300 lb cold press watercolor paper. watercolors.
I was forced to omit the watermark on this one cause it went right across the beak =/ meh.
